Pete, Carol, Fred, and Granny 1968
Pete, Carol, and Fred are co workers at the Bigsley packing factory. Their joking good times on the line turn ugly when they realize Carol’s mother, an alcoholic who’s prone to conversations with an imaginary Fred on her shoulder once worked for the CIA under the code name Granny.
The characters are loosely based on Pete Cochran from the Mod Squad, Carol Brady from the soon to be released Brady Bunch, Fred Flindstone, and Granny from the Beverly Hillbillies.
Understandable this movie was panned unmercifully and was La Treque’s last film. The satisfaction that La Treque must have felt returning to the screen in a picture produced by Mitsumount rival Helmsdale Studios was lost in a cloud of humiliation and disgrace. Not until years after her death in 1995 was Elva La Treque recognized as an actress of depth and talent who was grossly mistreated by the industry and who’s life was controlled and ultimately destroyed by the studio system.
This film is the dying breath of Elva La Treque’s film career.
